On "Exploding" Water, Microwave Ovens and Stupidity

See directly below to understand what this post relates to.

I really don't much know how to handle people who react to posts like
the ones about microwaves with reactions like: "The contention that
microwaves are dangerous is "idiotic". -or- "There is no scientific
proof that microwaves are dangerous." (There is, and how there is.) -
or- "So what if radiolytic compounds are formed? Radiolytic
compounds are just chemicals. All food is chemicals! Water is a
chemical." I've gotten reactions like that. I tried patiently to
explain that radiolytic compounds are very different than water,
sugars, proteins and fats - the compounds we are adapted to digest.
I tried to explain that we have no idea how our bodies will react to
radiolytic compounds because before the advent of exposing food to
microwaves we never had such large amounts of radiolytic compounds in
our food (heat creates some, but much, much less than do
microwaves).

I'm not much good at handling clearly irrational and emotional
reactions like that.
