B"H
Someone asked if I know of any ultra-Orthodox Jews who are/were vegetarians or wrote on the matter.
I answered:
I know of the Kli Yakar (Rabbis are often
referred to by the name of the greatest book they wrote) from Gerer
Chassidim who my husband used to learn with.
You might like to consult with a Rabbi from the Gerer stream of
Chassidism about vegetarianism as treated by the Kli Yakar. Please
let us know what he says.
